AI mode

You write a sentence, the engine returns a fully-spec'd QrConfig and renders it. The same validation pipeline applies — what changes is who picks the shapes and colors.

Inputs

Field	Required	Notes
URL / content	yes	What the QR will encode. The AI never invents this.
Prompt	yes	Plain language. Mention brand, mood, materials, references.
Logo URL	no	The engine fetches it, embeds it center, auto-clears modules beneath it.
Center banner text	no	Short string. Forces ECC H and a contrasting banner color.
CTA text	no	Caption below the QR.
Style preset	no	`luxury`, `minimal`, `artistic`, `corporate`, `tech`, `playful`, `nature`, `balanced`. Biases the prompt.
Creativity	no	`0.0–1.0`. Lower = closer to safe defaults, higher = bolder picks.

What the AI controls

Module shape (square / circle / diamond / hexagon / cross / star / leaf / dot / pointed / drop / …)
Finder eyes (outer + inner shapes, colors)
Palette (solid, linear gradient, radial gradient, multi-stop)
Gradient direction + angle
QR shape (square / rounded / circle)
Effects (shadow, glow, emboss, noise — within safe ranges)

What the AI never changes

The encoded content (your URL stays your URL).
The ECC level when strictScannability is on (held at H if a logo or center text is present).
The validation pipeline. Every output passes the same checks.

Provider fallback chain

The server-side endpoint (/api/qr/ai/generate/server) tries providers in this order:

Groq (GPT-OSS 120B) — free tier, fastest
Groq (GPT-OSS 20B) — separate free-tier quota
OpenAI GPT-4.1-mini — paid fallback
Google Gemini Flash — last resort

A 429 on one provider doesn't break the request — the next one in the chain answers.
