QR code types

A QR code generator for every use

A QR code has one job: open the right thing on the first try. Here is a guide for each common use, with the exact format phones understand and advice on making the design look like your brand without breaking the scan.

Choose what your QR code should open

Static or dynamic: the decision to make before you print

A static QR code stores the content inside the code itself: the Wi-Fi network, the contact card or the link. It needs no server in between and works forever, but if the content changes you have to generate and print a new code.

A dynamic QR code stores a short address that redirects to the destination you choose. You can change that destination at any time without reprinting, and see how often it is scanned, by country and device. It only works for destinations that are a web link (an online menu, a hosted PDF, a social profile), not for Wi-Fi or for vCards written into the code.

On QR Branding, static QR codes made by hand are unlimited on the free plan. A free account includes 1 dynamic QR code, and the one-time packs raise that to 3, 25 or 150. Dynamic QR codes keep working and stay editable forever, even after your credits run out.

Not sure where to start?

Open the builder with a link and tune the design by hand, or describe the style you want and let the AI propose it. Before you download, we check that the code scans.
